There is a historic one in Słopanów wooden church st. Nicholas, built in the years 1695-1699. A log church built from the foundation of the judge of Wałcz, Jan Kąsinowski, a log structure with one nave, covered with shingles, and its tower is crowned with an onion-shaped two-piece helmet with a fish scale and a lantern. Renovated in the years 1862 - 1866: the porch was added and in 1914. In the years 1953 - 1954 the polychrome was preserved. Completely restored in 1989 - 1991.

The presbytery is narrower than the nave, closed with polygons with a sacristy adjoining the side. Porch on the side of the nave. The roof has one ridge, covered with shingle, forming a wide eaves around the presbytery. The tower at the front, partially built over the nave, has a pole-frame structure.

Interesting is the interior of the church, kept in the folk style, especially late Renaissance and Baroque polychromes. Beautiful polychromes made with glue paints - they have a rustic character. Inside, a flat ceiling is the same for the nave and the chancel. Music choir supported by eight pillars with an organ front and a straight edge window sill. Rainbow beam with a crucifix from the 17th century. and folk sculptures: Our Lady of Sorrows from the 16th century and Saint John from the 17th century. scenes from the life of St. Nicholas (in the presbytery), biblical scenes and scenes from the lives of saints (in the nave) and angels playing musical instruments in the organ choir. The polychrome on the walls depicts biblical events from the lives of the saints: Nicholas, Lawrence, Stephen, Peter and Paul, with the addition of a floral ornament. On the ceiling, the Holy Trinity, God the Father and Christ. Equipment in the folk style from the second half of the 17th century: the main altar, two side altars. Rococo pulpit and baptismal font in the form of a vase with a canopy and an image of Christ from the end of the 18th century.

The most famous satirical figural polychrome is located under the organ choir and depicts the devil holding an inn with a mug of beer by his collar. The devil writes down her sins on the cowhide, and above the innkeeper's head there is a description of the sin, perhaps the most severe in the opinion of the author of the polychrome: "Because she did not pour".
