Tamarindo (also: Playa Tamarindo) is a coastal town in the province Guanacaste in Costa Rica.

Ten years ago Tamarindo was still a small fishing village. Today Tamarindo is a booming tourist center and a surfer's paradise with countless hotels and restaurants in various price ranges.

By plane

The national airline SANSA flies 12 times a day from San José / Int. Airport to Tamarindo.

In the street

Of San Jose from one drives over the Panamericana direction Liberia, at Limonal you branch off direction Nicoya. From Nicoya you continue to Santa Cruz. From there a rather bad road leads to Tamarindo.
