The Tannheim Valley located in Tyrol northwest of Reutte.
The villages in the high valley at an altitude of 1100 m are a bit away from the major tourist centers and are therefore ideal for a quiet, relaxing holiday.

There are no train routes in Tannheimertal. However, there are train stations in the nearby towns of Pfronten, Vils, Reutte and Sonthofen.

The Tannheimer Tal can be reached via the B 199 via the Gaichtpass, as well as via the L261 from Pfronten and the 308 via Oberjoch.

- Vilsalpsee nature reserve - There are three mountain lakes in the beautiful high mountain valley: Vilsalpsee, Traunalpsee, Lache. There are many hiking opportunities.
- Mountain railways with summer operation
- Füssener Jochle mountain railway - The 8-seater gondola lift (mountain station at 1821 m) opens up various hiking opportunities in the Tannheim mountains. Thereby, 616 meters of altitude are overcome in 9 minutes.
- Bergbahn Neunerköpfle - The 8-seater gondola lift leads from Tannheim to 1822 m.

- Bike tours - The 20 km long, paved "Tannheimer Tal cycle path" opens up the wide valley floor. The Talweg is an ideal family route.
- MTB tours - 9 MTB routes with a total length of 50 km are signposted in the region.

Alpine skiing
The Tannheim, Schattwald, Rohnenlifte, Grän and Nesselwängle ski areas together form the Tannheimer Tal ski association with a total of around 47 kilometers of slopes and a shared ski pass. Depending on the weather and snow conditions, the season extends from the end of November to around mid-April.

In the valley floor, around 80 kilometers of cross-country trails are groomed at an altitude of around 1100 m.
International balloon festival
Every year in the second and third week of January the international balloon festival takes place with participants from all over the world. Visitors can watch the whole spectacle. But you also have the opportunity to take part in a balloon ride yourself and enjoy the view of the Tannheim Valley and the Alpine panorama from a completely different perspective.
