Terres basses is a city in Saint Martin.

background

Terres Basses is located in the southwest of the French part of the island between the Simpson Bay lagoon and the Caribbean Sea. This almost island-shaped structure used to be a sugar cane plantation, then for a long time an almost uninhabited peninsula, there were only a few huts.

Again it was an American who bought the land for tens of thousands of dollars. He divided the area into individual parcels and sold them for a few hundred thousand dollars more. This is how the cluster of the most exclusive villas on the island came into being on the quiet peninsula. Accordingly, in contrast to the rest of the island, there is no street life and no shops. No house is directly adjacent to the street, but the outside world ends in front of walls and remote-controlled gates. There is hardly any information about owners and architectural styles. What they all have in common, however, is the desire to keep this area private. So if you want to go to the extremely beautiful beaches there, you should do so before the peninsula's own security service opens its street posts with barriers in the evening.

The Orient Express fund company renovated its La Samanna hotel complex in 2006/2007.
