Tourist Attractions
- Fort Williams Historical Park, King Road of Broadway Road. In the so-called history park, over 40 buildings of Fort Williams are replicated and are populated by actors in that time, which means they are dressed accordingly and 'think' in that time. So if you are asked where you come from and say from Germany, then it is calculated how long it will take with the canoe. The complex demonstrates the times of the flourishing fur trade and the North West Company around 1815. It must be emphasized, however, that it is neither the original building (but replicas) nor the original location (there the space was already occupied), i.e. one Kind of historic Disneyland. One of Kanda's top 10 tourist attractions.Price: Entry varies depending on the season up to 14 CAD plus taxes (as of 05/2017).
- Terry Fox Memorial and Outlook. At the eastern entrance to the village, there is a short turn-off from the highway to a small hill with a beautiful view over the lake. There is also a bronze statue there, commemorating Terry Fox, who died of cancer in 1981 at the age of 23 and before that with his Marathon of Hope Captivated Canada and the world and became a Canadian national hero.
activities
shop
- Intercity Shopping Center. The large and relatively pleasant mall is located between Fort William Road and Memorial Avenue and is also a good way to bridge a few hours of rain.
kitchen
In the district around the Finlandia Club at the intersection of Bay Street and Algoma Street South there is a small gentrification nucleus with some very nice cafes like Calico, The Bean Fiend or The growing season as well as the supposedly legendary Finnish restaurant The Hoito and the iconic, cozy one Madhouse. Otherwise the term around the corner as is usually to be seen very relatively and often means just a few minutes by car and by no means within walking distance.

trips
- Eagle Canyon. About 65 km east of Thunder Bay, near Highway 11/17, Eagle Canyon is spanned by two spectacular suspension bridges. On a short circular hike, which at best lasts 45 minutes, you can walk over these two suspension bridges - the larger one is said to be the longest suspension bridge in Canada, which extends over more than 180 meters at a height of max. 46 meters. What sounds like supposedly harmless numbers here is quite an edgy experience and not for people with a fear of heights (entrance fee 20 CAD). If that's not enough, you can slide down into the valley with a zip line (attached to a zip line) (additional CAD 50). How to get there: From the highway onto Ouiment Canyon Road, then after a few kilometers turn right onto Valley Road (gravel road).
