The small town Tolhuin is on the east bank of the Lake Fagnano in the argentinian province Tierra del Fuego. It is an emerging, modern place with burgeoning tourism.
The city was used as a supply point between Rio Grande and Ushuaia founded and is the only village on Lake Fagnano. This is also the main attraction for travelers and especially for anglers, it is also access to the Tierra del Fuego National Park.

Tolhuin was founded in 1972, making it the youngest town in the Argentine part of Tierra del Fuego. It didn't really start to grow until after 1990, when tourism in the region increased.
The center of the village is about a kilometer away from Lake Fagnano. However, some of the accommodations are located at the small harbor.

By plane
Both of Ushuaia as well as Rio Grande, which both airports have, the place is easily accessible.
In the street
Almost the only way to get there is the Ruta Nacional 3, which is now completely tarred, but if you come from the north, a little way through Chile leads.

- Tierra del Fuego National Park. Both north and south of Lake Fagnano, spur roads lead into the national park. However, there is hardly any infrastructure in this area - ideal for nature lovers.
- Tour to the Miter Peninsula. The branches about 15 km north of Tolhuin Ruta Provincial 21 (formerly Ruta Complementaria A) eastwards, which leads into one of the most deserted areas on the Atlantic coast of the island of Tierra del Fuego, past bays, peninsulas, hill and rocky landscapes, swamps and isolated estancias. In the estancias Rolito (km. 14) and Cabo San Pablo (km. 39) you can stay overnight.
