- 1 Convento de Cristo. Tomar Castle was founded around 1160. She was taking Heinrich the Navigator extended, under king Manuel I it received its splendid interior in around 1500 Manueline style. It was also redesigned several times later. The entire system has been part of the UNESCO world cultural heritage.
