The Trek around Mount Girod, is a circuit located between 700 and 1000 meters altitude on the top of the Tavannes Valley, in the Canton of Bern.

Steps

From the village of Champoz, take the street that goes up to Mont Girod. Continue on a path for more than a kilometer. At the intersection, go down opposite. When you reach the path to the cows, take a path opposite that is barely visible through the fields. Continue towards the farms of Mont Girod. After these, take a staircase then take the path on the right. Continue to Lac Vert.

Variant 1 (small loop)

Turn back to the farms. From there continue straight on until Champoz. After the first houses, take the street on the right to reach the village.

Variant 2 (large loop)

Continue to the intersection. Turn right on the path below the hill. Continue straight ahead, then follow a stream until the road to Valbirse (Bévilard). Go up to the village.

By car: From Biel, Neuchâtel or Berne, A16, exit Loveresse, then continue until the roundabout at the exit of Valbirse (Bévilard), follow the signs "Champoz". From Moutier, take the small road on the right at the exit of the town at the entrance to the gorges de Court. By train: From Biel, take the train towards Sonceboz-Sombeval, then change direction Moutier. From Moutier, take the train towards Sonceboz-Sombeval. Get off at Malleray-Bévilard or at Court.
