Three songs It is the youngest municipality in the Madrid's community, since it was born as an independent entity on March 21, 1991. It is located about 20 kilometers north of the city of Madrid in the framework of a privileged natural environment, bordering to the west with the Monte de El Pardo and to the east with the Soto de Viñuelas. It owes its name to the three granite stones or blocks that are found in the Cerro de la Marmota, the highest point in the municipality. It currently has just over 40,000 inhabitants, which makes it a medium-sized town where it is possible to enjoy a high quality of life. It has an important industrial estate and a technology park in which prominent companies are located, which attracts a large number of travelers for professional reasons.

The Tres Cantos climate is typical of continental Spain. Summers are long and hot, with average maximum temperatures of about 32ºC which, occasionally, can be close to 40ºC. Night socks are more pleasant, since they drop to 17ºC. Winter temperatures are also quite extreme, the minimum being slightly below 0ºC and the maximum around 10ºC. It is common for winter rains to last several days in a row, in which it is also possible to find morning fogs. As is usual in the continental climate, autumn and spring pass fleetingly, leaving little room to enjoy its pleasant temperatures.

By train

Get to Tres Cantos by train from Madrid is one of the most convenient ways to do it. The interval between trains is 15 minutes on weekdays and 30 minutes on holidays, and there is usually no problem finding a free seat.

The traveler who arrives in Madrid by rail will end his trip at the Atocha or Chamartín stations. There you should take the C4B commuter line, which will take you directly to Tres Cantos station. The duration of the journey will vary between 30 and 20 minutes, depending on whether you start the trip in Atocha or in Chamartín. The price of the single ticket on a weekday is € 2.10.

Travelers arriving in Madrid by plane must take the metro from Barajas Airport to Nuevos Ministerios station, where they will connect with the aforementioned suburban line C4B, bound for Tres Cantos.

One drawback of reaching Tres Cantos by commuter rail is that the station is not located in the center of the municipality and, although there are urban buses that stop at its door, at certain times it is not always possible to connect with them and there will be You have to take a taxi (there is a stop at the station itself) or take a walk that can be too long.

By bus

There are different intercity bus lines that connect Tres Cantos with Madrid. Most of these buses depart from the Plaza de Castilla transport interchange (lines 712, 713, 716 and 717), although there is also one that departs from the Canillejas neighborhood (827). The price of the bus ticket between Madrid and Tres Cantos is € 2.

By car

It is very easy to drive to Tres Cantos. The town is located on the M-607 road. This road, which is the natural continuation of Madrid's Paseo de la Castellana, has direct access from the M-30 and M-40 ring roads. The exit to Tres Cantos is signposted "Colmenar Viejo - Tres Cantos", so it is easy to find. Once on the M-607, there are three different exits to access Tres Cantos, depending on the final destination of the driver. Driving on the M-607, you must be careful not to exceed 100 km / h, since it is the maximum speed of the highway. It is not possible to directly access the M-607 from the M-50.

Drive through Tres Cantos

An advantage of traveling to Tres Cantos by car is that the traffic inside the town is scarce. In addition, and unlike Madrid capital, there are no regulated parking areas where you have to pay to park your car.
