Trentino-South Tyrol (incl. Trentino-Alto Adige) is an administrative region in the Northeast ItalyTo the north it borders with Austria, to the east and south with the region Venetoand from the west with Lombardy and Switzerland.

The capital of the region is Trento (108,577 inhabitants).

Area of ​​13,613 km² (Trento 6,213 km², South Tyrol 7,400 km²). The population density is around 70 people / km².

From Poland, planes fly to Venice and Milan / Bergamo. Larger hotels provide airport transfers. Otherwise, you can rent a car.

By rail

No direct connection from Poland. The necessity of changing flights makes the journey very long.

By car

Access to the region is provided by the motorway via the Brenner Pass. On the Austrian section, you must have a valid vignette affixed to the windshield, on the Italian section, the fee is paid at the gates. In the winter season, on Saturdays, the motorway becomes "jammed". An alternative is access via national roads: the first option - in Austria the national road 100 and in Italy the SS49, the second option - in Austria r 180 and in Italy the SS40. The latter route is recommended for those going to the western part of the region. In winter, heavy snowfall is to be expected and snow chains are therefore mandatory.
