In Stockholm, as elsewhere in Sweden, the official currency is the krona (SEK). Euros are accepted in the old town and the largest department stores, but the exchange rate is really weak in some places, so it is worthwhile for the tourist to exchange the money for crowns. Of course, cash can also be withdrawn from ATMs (Bankomats) at least with Visa and Visa Electron cards. Stockholm is a bad shopping city because of people’s low incomes.
