Grommet is a town with about 14,300 inhabitants in the Limousin. It is the bishopric and therefore the spiritual center of the Limousin region. The city lies at an average altitude of 212 m above sea level and on both sides of the Corrèze river, which leaves the Massif Central and flows into the Brive basin. The river gave the department Corrèze his name.
