Ueckermünde is a city in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The city is located on the Szczecin Lagoon, at the confluence of the Uecker. Southeast of the city is the Ueckermünder Heide, this forest area extends over 50 kilometers to the Polish Police (Pölitz).

By train

Ueckermünde has two stops that are served by the RE 6 trains (every 2 hours). This means that Ueckermünde can be reached by train from Berlin in around 3 hours with a change in Pasewalk.

In the street

from Berlin

Ueckermünde can be reached via the A11 in the direction of Stettin, at the Uckermark junction on the A20 and from the Pasewalk exit on to Ueckermünde.

from Hamburg

From Hamburg you can reach Ueckermünde via the A1 in the direction of Rostock, from the Lübeck junction continue on the A20 to the Pasewalk exit from there to Ueckermünde.

By boat

Tourist Attractions

The Ueckermünder old town is overall worth seeing. There are restored half-timbered and gabled buildings. There are beautiful buildings on the market square and on the Ackerhof, among other places. The former elliptical course of the city wall can still be seen in the city plan.

  • That built in 1546 Ducal Castle was built on the site of the previous building, whereby the tower was retained. Today it houses a museum and the city administration.
  • 1  Marienkirche. It was built in 1766 in the baroque style. Occasional concerts are held there.

The city of Ueckermünde and the Ueckermünde brewery "Stadtkrug" presented the 10th Ueckermünde Music Summer from June to September 2013 every Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Free entry. This event is to be continued in 2014.
