the Mount Vesuvius (Vesuvio) is a volcano located in Italy.
Understand
It is not only an almost unique geological phenomenon in Europe, but also the best viewpoint on Naples and its bay. You can even see the islands of Ischia in good weather and Capri.
To go
Access to Vesuvius can be done by car (road: Torre del Greco?). But the last hundred meters are on foot, after leaving your car in a parking lot (paying). Access to the contour of the crater is regulated (paying, pay attention to opening hours!). You must therefore pay twice: so be sure of yourself: climbing the last few meters is not excessively taxing, but you still have to count a good thirty minutes of walking. If it's hot, bring water. The volcanic stone attracts and diffuses heat.
Le Vesuvius is at the heart of a protected natural park. Some Neapolitans, for lack of an efficient road system, tend to leave their waste at the foot of the volcano! If you see any along the way, don't think it is a wrong road! (knowing that all the roads that seem to go up towards the volcano do not lead to the crater).
To see
Once you get to the top so you can see the whole bay, try to guess Pompeii, wearing Naples, Capri... On the crater side, you may have the chance to discover some fumaroles.
