Valkenburg is a city in the Dutch province Limburg. In addition to the town of Valkenburg, it includes the tourist village of Schin op Geul, the towns of Berg, Terblijt and Houthem-St. Gerlach.

With its hilly landscape, which is atypical for the Netherlands, Valkenburg is a popular holiday destination, especially among the Dutch. The region is a popular hiking and cycling area because of its topography. There are hotels, campsites and bungalow parks in Schin op Geul.
