Valladolid is a city in northern Spain, the capital of the province of the same name, located on the Pisuerga River. The city has outstanding buildings such as the Church of Santa María la Antigua, completed in the 13th century; 15th-century Colegio de Santa Cruz church (now has a museum inside); 16th century church with post-Renaissance architectural style; the last abode of Christopher Columbus. The city was the capital of Spain before Madrid.
