Wainwright is a market town south-east ofEdmonton. In fact, it is located in the valley of the Battle River. The town of Wainwright is surrounded by the Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61 and also includes its administrative offices. It is adjacent to the Wainwright Garrison, a military base of the Canadian Armed Forces.
