background

The mountain lake, located at an altitude of 930 m, is 11.6 km long and has a water surface of 6.5 square kilometers. Large parts of the shore are only accessible on foot and are under nature protection. In summer the water with drinking water quality is warm up to 24 degrees Celsius.

In winter, the lake often freezes over due to its altitude. The water is then a mecca for ice skaters and, if there is snow, also for cross-country skiers.

The Weißenseebrücke crosses the lake at its narrowest point. From here you have a beautiful view of the lake.

Weißensee is a member of the tourism organization Alpine pearls.
