background

Yuma is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. Thanks to the mild winter climate and the area irrigated by the Colorado and Gila Rivers, it is quite comfortable to live here. In the winter months, many thousands of so-called "snowbirds", Americans from the northern states, regularly come here. Yuma therefore has countless parks for RVs, especially in the outskirts. The Colorado is approximately 100 m wide and 70-80 cm deep and is suitable for swimming in many places. The Gila is mostly dry and only carries water inside Arizona after heavy rains.

climate

Yuma is in the Guiness Book of Records as the sunniest place in the world. With an average of just eight centimeters of precipitation over the whole year, the sun shines over the city in more than 90% of the daylight hours. In summer, temperatures above 40 ° C are therefore very common.
