The Zasavska region is the smallest of the Slovenian regions in terms of area (264 km²) and number of inhabitants. It is very centrally located in Slovenia and has no external borders. The main line of business is mining and stone extraction.

- Trbovlje district museum
- Historic miners' settlement, in Trbovlje. Built over 100 years ago.
- Ruins of Medija Castle. From the 15th century.
- Zagorje ob Savi. Located on the 15th semicircle, there is also a memorial.
- Stone wedding party. At the river Medija there are 20 individual rock pillars with heights of 3 to 20 meters, the so-called stone wedding party.
- The chimney of the coal-fired power plant near Trbovlje is the highest in Europe at 360 m.
