The Zona Oeste groups the western and southwestern cities of the Gran Buenos Aires, the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires.
Most of the localities are dormitory cities without any major highlights. There are some parks and green spaces in this area.

- La Matanza, with 1.7 million inhabitants the most populous district in the province of Buenos Aires. Owns with San Justo and especially Ramos Mejía two booming urban centers, but also large slums.
- Malvinas Argentinas, Outskirts with many sports facilities
- Marcos Paz, poor and middle class outskirts
- Merlo, more independent city on the periphery with a pretty center and an attractive church
- Moreno, sparsely populated suburb
- Morón, densely populated area of the middle class, with a handsome business center
- Pilar, characterized by closed country clubs
- San Miguel, poor and middle class outskirts
- Tres de Febrero, Middle class district with no great highlights
Other goals
- Ingeniero Roggero dam, in Moreno and Marcos Paz. Recreation area on the edge of the pampas. The environment has the character of a garden city.

getting there
The trains to this area run at the train stations Once, Federico Lacroze and partly too Retiro from.
The two highways Ruta Nacional 8 and Acceso Oeste (RN 7) run through the area, which is a bypass highway of the inner city belt Camino del Buen Ayre.

You can get to almost every corner by bus and train.

in the Parque de la Reconquista You can do sports along the Camino del Buen Ayre. The park is divided into several individual parks that can be visited from the various exits.

The city is considered the center of nightlife in the area Ramos Mejía (Partido La Matanza) and especially the area around the Avenida Gaona. In addition to numerous bars and a few discos, there is also a larger cultural center with theater events. Otherwise every place has to be boliche, but a greater density is rarely found.
security
The area is the poorest in the metropolitan area. Some areas of La Matanza are considered critical (such as the poor south of Ciudad Evita, where drug trafficking is concentrated) and the cities of Merlo and Moreno, which are far away.
