THE'Likoma Island is an island in the lake Malawi landlocked in the territorial waters of Mozambique. It is the larger of the two islands in Lake Malawi, the other being that of Chizumulu.

On a boat
The Ilala ferry connects from Likoma Island to Cobuè in Mozambique twice a week. The same ferry stops on thechizumulu island en route to Nkhata Bay over mainland Malawi.

By plane
Likoma has an asphalt runway and can be reached by air. Nyassa Air Taxi have small planes flying between Lilongwe and Likoma on a regular shuttle service from 280 /490 $ for a return trip

- Nkwichi Lodge, Manda Wilderness Cobue, Lake Niassa, Mozambique – Nkwichi is a responsible tourism lodge just a short boat ride from Likoma Island but be aware that this is in Mozambique and a visa may be required.
