Already in the 19th century it was a popular seaside resort with the French colonial rulers. According to official information, Đồ Sơn now owns 52 hotels with a total of 3,000 beds and 230 restaurants. The Hải Phong Tourist Festival in 2007 had the slogan: "Đồ Sơn - call of the sea".
