In Gerakini, there is a festival of Agios Theodoros. At the beginning of the last century it was a small settlement of the workers of the lekolitho mine of the area. Its development began after 1960. Kalyves Polygyros is located in the inland of the Toroneos gulf between Gerakini and Olynthos with a permanent population of over 1,000 inhabitants which in the summer is greatly increased by vacationers. History

Near Gerakini, the site of a Roman settlement was located, which probably succeeded the classic city of Mykiverna, which was located just two kilometers away. Also, a few kilometers north of Gerakini, in the place "Selio", traces of another Roman and Byzantine settlement have been identified.

In the area of ​​Kalyves Polygyros was the ancient city of Mykiverna, which was independent and a port of ancient Olynthos, as well as the prehistoric settlement of Molyvopyrgos.
