The Shelter is her area Kozani. It is located at an altitude of 1500 meters and 26 kilometers from the village Velvento Kozani and 50 kilometers from its center Kozani.
At a glance
Today, Katafygi is inhabited only during the summer months, by the residents themselves who, after the fire, live in Katerini, and thus the beautiful village of Pieria is revived, even for a while, but also by other non-shelters.

What to see
In the Square, the visitor will see the Church of Panagia, which was rebuilt and inaugurated in 1969 by the then Metropolitan of Serbia and Kozani, Mr. Dionysios. In the district of Magoulades or Maglades, there is the Church of Agios Georgios. On the other side of the village there is the Church of Agios Nikolaos, built in 1750, and it is the only church that was not burned by the German fire, despite their efforts. The marks from their attempts to set fire are still visible on the walls. Apart from these, there are also the Churches of Profitos Ilias on the small hill called Karaouli, with a stunning view to Kozani and the lake of Aliakmonos of Polyphytos. The cliff from Karaouli is called Skrika. There is also the church of Agios Nektarios, and Agios Dimitrios, where the cemetery of the village in the ossuary of which are kept the bones of Katafygiotes, while in the location Livadia there is also the Church of Agios Athanasios
At the entrance of the village from the side of Elatochori, we meet Stravrodromi. There is also the monument, where in January 1924 the famous thief Fotis Giagoulas and his lads killed the village doctor Odysseas Nikolaidis.

Shortly before entering the village there is the Church of Agios Dionysios on Olympus, where on the day of the 15th of August the inhabitants lead the Holy Relics of Agios Dionysios
