The Nafplio is a city of the Peloponnese, capital of the Prefecture of Argolida and the main port of the eastern Peloponnese. It has a population of 14,203 inhabitants. It is one of the most picturesque cities in the country, and was the capital of the Greek state in the years 1828 - 1833.
