Important cities

  •   Dehrantun (Dehradun).
  •   Mussouri (Mussoorie). - At altitudes above 2000 m. Moussouri is a popular resort in a wooded area and offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas.
  •   Graceful (Haridwar). - The city is built on the banks of the river Ganges and is an important religious destination of Hinduism. At the great Hindu festival Kub Mela, the faithful flock to Hariduar to wash in the sacred waters of the river.
  •   Risks (Rishikesh). Risks is known as the capital of yoga. This is where the famous guru Maharisi Maches stayed. The city became world famous in 1968 when the Beatles visited the Ashram of Maharishi to learn meditation techniques. Since then, yoga centers have proliferated. Thousands of tourists come here to relax body and soul in a green environment
  •   Utarkasi (Uttarkashi). - This town is home to one of the best mountaineering schools in India, the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering.
  •   Naindal. - Popular resort at an altitude of 2,084 m above sea level. It attracts a large number of local tourists every summer, mainly from Delhi
  •   Almora.
