What to see

  • Church of Agios Athanasios of Rum-Palamas (At the main square). It was built in 1811. It is the largest in dimensions (500 sq.m.) of the prefecture of Karditsa and was named so because, when it was built, it was located in the Greek (Rum) district. This temple was built on an earlier temple, which dates back to Byzantine times (around 1300 AD) and is considered one of the oldest and largest in the Balkans and one of the few surviving of this style.
