At a glance

According to tradition, the First was called Kiasa or Kiesa in antiquity. Later, during the Byzantine period, it was renamed Zidomista and then Evdomista from the 70 houses it included, while during the Turkish occupation it was named Kiupkioi. "Kiupkioi" is a Turkish name and means "village of jars", apparently due to the many jars (cups) found there due to the developed pottery. It was renamed "Fylis" in 1919 and Proti in 1927.
