Tourism
Starting from the economic reconstruction of the decades 1950-1960, Stavros began to be a pole of attraction for the inhabitants of the neighboring prefectures, but also of Yugoslavia. In 1993 all three beaches of Stavros, the western, the central (of Platanias) and the eastern (of Milia) were awarded the Blue Flag of The European Union, an award that has been repeated every year since then. In the last 15 years there has been an explosion in the provision of tourist services with many newly built hotels and rooms for rent, the establishment of new entertainment centers and the organization of beaches, as well as the arrival of organized groups of tourists from Czech republic, the Hungary, τη Serbia and Germany.
