The Flaming and Nea Triglia, Sozopoli, Metochi, Nea Plagia, are its settlements Of Halkidiki, are located about 52 km from Thessaloniki.

At a glance

Flogita has 1,520 (2001 census) permanent residents. This number increases sharply during the summer months, when it numbers over 20,000 residents and visitors. Along the coast there is a plethora of taverns, fast food restaurants, patisseries, cafes and bars, clubs and in general the climate refers to "party style village". The beach of Flogita is sandy, about one km long, organized with lifeguard coverage

History

The inhabitants of Sozopol come mainly from Sozopol of Northern Thrace (today Bulgaria), but also from other ancient centers of Hellenism of the Western Black Sea. On the hill, where the current village is built, the site of a Roman and Byzantine settlement was located. Also, on the left of the road to Veria, we meet "Toumba" with ruins of an ancient settlement, where the seat of the Bishop "Kassandreia and Vryon".

The history of the Flogites begins with the Asia Minor catastrophe. In 1923, refugees from Flogita or Floita (today Suvermez) from Cappadocia of Central Asia, gathered and founded Nea Flogita. A sight is the metochi of Flogite, which in the Second World War functioned as a hospital.
