Common diphthongs

Esperanto has only single syllables. When two vowels are consecutively written, they are divided into two syllables, such as kio (ki-o), boato (bo-a-to), etc. In addition, there are six semi-vowel-like diphthong syllables: ja, je, jo, ju, aŭ, iŭ, and eŭ.
