Tioman Island(Pulau Tioman) is a small volcanic island 32 kilometers off the east coast of the Malay Peninsula. It is under the jurisdiction of Pahang, Malaysia. It covers an area of about 228 square kilometers. The local residents are sparsely populated, with only about 2,000 people. Tioman Island is famous for its beautiful surrounding coral reefs. In 1958, the famous American movie "South Pacific" was filmed here, which made the local area a tourist attraction, especially for diving.
