Negeri Sembilan - 森美蘭

Negeri Sembilan (Malay: Negeri Sembilan, Jawi: نڬري سمبيلن)‎, which means "nine states" in Malay) is a state of Malaysia located on the west coast of the Malay Peninsula.

The capital of Negeri Sembilan is Seremban (Malay: Seremban). Furong City is also known as "Flower City" because many residential areas in the capital are named after flowers. The seat of the state palace is located in Shen'an Chi (Malay: Seri Menanti). Different from the hereditary system of the monarchs of other states in the Malay Peninsula, the monarch of Negeri Sembilan is called the supreme ruler (also known as "Yan Duan"), not the sultan. The supreme ruler was elected by the chiefs of the four major tribes in the state, namely Sungai Furong, Lin Mao, Ji Lakwu and Rouhe.
