Jeju is the largest island on the Korean peninsula and a popular resort area for Koreans. The island provides visitors with a great activity space including Halla Mountain (South Korea's highest peak) Go hiking, watch the sunrise and sunset by the beach, ride horses, visit Al Jazeera TV series filming locations or just lazily lie on the beach.
Geographically, it is located to the southwest of Jeollanam-do and was part of Jeollanam-do before 1946. It is the only special autonomous province in Korea recently.
Before the 1980s, Korean nationals were not allowed to travel across borders without government permission. Therefore, Jeju Island has developed very well as a domestic tourist destination, and it has become a traditional honeymoon destination in Korea (If you want to check, let’s check the number of people wearing couple outfits.). Jeju Island is also a gathering place for very theme parks and niche commercial attractions in Korea. There are strange museums about sex, glass, and teddy bears.
There is a certain difference between this island and South Korea, and now it still has the status of an autonomous road.
The local traditional culture is in sharp contrast with the continent (and even the whole of Asia). On the coast of Jeju, you can still see professional divers called "Haenyeos" who catch seafood throughout the year. They have the physical strength and endurance worthy of their reputation. Perhaps the more representative symbols of Jeju are the "Shiye Statue" and "Grandfather Statue", which are part of the unique shamanistic tradition of Jeju Island. They are carved from local basalt and are common in restaurants and other places on the island. .
Jeju is also famous for its orange trees all over the island. You can buy fresh oranges and orange products at any time of the year.
Jeju Island has a mild maritime climate throughout the year, with the smallest temperature fluctuations in Korea.
At the same time, Jeju has gradually become an international tourist area in recent years. Therefore, travel brochures and introductions translated into Chinese, Japanese and English can be seen everywhere. It is very convenient for travelers who use Chinese, English or Japanese.
Jeju has English magazines founded by foreign residents——Jeju Life。
