Weizhou Island was formed by a volcanic eruption 7000 years ago. It has a very unique topography and landform. The waters around Weizhou Island are rich in corals and other aquatic life. Weizhou Island has a south subtropical monsoon climate with an average annual temperature of 22.6°C. The average annual rainfall is 1380mm, which is cool in summer and warm in winter.
Outside of the domestic statutory holidays, Weizhou Island generally has a small flow of people. Domestic tourists are usually day trips or weekends, and they don't live regularly.
