Échirolles is located in the southern suburbs of Grenoble. It is crossed by the southern ring road of the city, and served by three exits, Échirolles-ouest, Échirolles-center and Échirolles-est.
Like the inner suburbs of Grenoble, this city is not immune to the difficulties of road traffic during rush hour. However, it is well laid out with long avenues that join Grenoble like the course of the Liberation.
Public transport is relatively developed and makes it easy to get around on and between Échirolles and Grenoble. There is a train stop (Échirolles station) and several bus lines, as well as the tram (line A) cross the town. On the other hand, it is quite long to pass on the west bank of the Drac, on the Seyssins, Seyssinet, Fontaine side by public transport, the rest of the neighboring municipalities are easily accessible by public transport from the Semitag network, with the strong development of a Multi modal pole. - 3 Geo Charles Park (West Picasso Park) – Park of three and a half hectares, including the pond, it is famous for its flower beds, rosebushes with grouped flowers, large flowers, large stems, etc ... this rose garden is home to 38 varieties, which represents 5000 feet of rose bushes. It is organized around a large pond. The calm atmosphere makes it a pleasant area. The children's games contrast with the countless flowers that color the landscape. Many birds also frequent this corner of greenery, wild ducks and magpies come together at the edge of the small pond which is in the center of the park, an island with abundant and wild vegetation is the refuge of many birds, more than 86 different species, listed by the Ornithological Center of the Rhône-Alpes Region, from the black tit to the wagtail. The Park is classified as an ecological zone because it is a migratory corridor for birds.
