Świecie (German: Schwetz or Schwetz on the Vistula) is a historic small town in the voivodeship Kuyavian Pomeranian south of the Vistula Delta on the eastern edge of the South Pomeranian Lake District in Poland. The place is at the mouth of the Wda in the Vistula and is suitable as an excursion center for water sports enthusiasts. It is known for its brick-Gothic order castle and old town.

getting there

You can get to Świecie by car on the expressway S5 between Bydgoszcz and Danzig. The DK91 leads from Toruń here. Long-distance and regional trains on the Gdańsk – Bydgoszcz line stop at Laskowice Pomorskie Train Station, 10 km away. The Vistula cycle route runs through Świecie.
