  • Carnival. This custom came to the area around the end of the 1970s. With the "opening" of the Triodion, carnival dances begin by the Associations of the city for young and old. In the past, they used to disguise themselves and visit the houses of celebrities and play the classic game "guess who I am". The parade consists of hiking groups and chariots that satirize current issues. Schools, clubs and many volunteers are participating. The celebration takes place on the main street of the city and as soon as they pass everyone gathers in the main square and the traditional burning of the carnival takes place. Before the burning of the carnival, the dance takes place around the carousel. The next day of the carnival, that is, Clean Monday, finds the whole city on the beach of Skala. Our well-known coulombs are celebrated there. The Municipality of Atalanta has established every year and offers guests traditional bean soup, Lent food, halva and wine for free.   • Wine festival. Early autumn, after the harvest, the traditional "wine festival" begins. It is another celebration that does not have a specific date but has been established since 1996 at the initiative of the Municipality of Atalanti. The area has a tradition in wine production and in fact two parts of the plain are called Kato and Pano vineyards. The party takes place in the central square of the city. Traditional music dominates and guests eat traditional food offered by local clubs and drink wine for free. Plenty of wine is offered by local winemakers.
  • Sardine festival. Every July, the traditional sardine festival is celebrated. It does not have a specific date but somewhere in the middle of the month. This celebration takes place in Skala Atalanti. With the cooperation of the Municipality of Atalanti and the associations of Skala, a big party is held where the guests are provided with free sardines, wine, salads and bread. The celebration is accompanied by traditional bands and everyone has fun with local music and dances.
  • Atalanti Choir Festival. The Atalanti Choir Festival started in 1981 and continues to this day. Until 1996 it was held in the central square of the city, but from 1997 until today the festival is organized in Aiantio Municipal Theater of Atalanta. It does not have a specific date but is always held in June. In addition to the local choirs take part in the choir festival "Harmony», «Progress" and "Atalanti Choir», Choirs from all over Greece and sometimes from abroad.
