The Janina[1] also known as Ioannina the Giannina is the capital and largest city of the prefecture of Ioannina and the whole Epirus with 111,740 inhabitants (2011).

Ideal period of visit

All seasons. According to the Kepen Climate Classification, Ioannina has a marginal climate between Mediterranean (Csa) and subtropical liquid (Cfa), as there is only one summer month with rainfall of less than 40 mm. The summer is hot and dry while the winter is wet and colder than the coastal areas of Epirus. It is one of the rainiest cities in Greece. The highest temperature recorded is 42.4 ° C and the lowest -13 ° C.
