THE Igoumenitsa is a coastal city of Epirus, capital of the prefecture of Thesprotia with a population of 9,145 inhabitants and is the first moving port in Western Greece. The ships connect Greece with Italy, as well as within Greece, Patras and the Ionian Islands.

By air

The nearest airports are those of Ioannina and Corfu.

By road

  • From Athens: Via the National Road Antirriou-Ioannina GR-EO-5.svg to the borders of the prefecture of Arta (towards Filippiada) and then follow for a few kilometers the National Road Filippiada-Preveza GR-EO-21.svg and then the Preveza-Igoumenitsa National Road. An alternative and shorter route is through the Aktio - Preveza submarine tunnel.
  • From Ioannina: Via the Egnatia Odos.
  • From Thessaloniki: Via the Egnatia Odos.
  • From Preveza: Via the National Road Preveza-Igoumenitsa GR-EO-18.svg.

By boat

Igoumenitsa has its own port with connection to and from Italy but also connection to domestic destinations. Nearest ports are those of Preveza and Corfu.
