THE Resource is a green island in the Saronic Gulf, 32 nautical miles from it Piraeus. It has an area of ​​33 sq.km., a coastline of 42 km and a population of about 3,650.

  •   Clock Tower. The clock was built in 1927. It is located at the highest point of the island and the view from there is amazing.
  •   Archaeological MuseumKorizi Square. Wed-Sun 09: 00-15: 00. Finds from the temple of Poseidon, from ancient Magoula, Apathia, Monti, and Agios Konstantinos from Methana are on display.
  •   Small museum of Poros. Daily 09: 00-13: 00 & 18: 00-21: 00. Opened in 2006, it exhibits shells from the Greek seas. The Municipal Library contains more than 8,000 books and more than 200 DVDs.
  •   Temple of Poseidon. The ancient temple of Poseidon is located on the north side of the island. The exact date of construction is not known, it is estimated that it was built in 520 BC. The dimensions of the temple are 27.4x14.4m and it is of Doric style. It has six columns on each small side and 12 along the large side. In this temple Demosthenes drank the poison in 322 BC. during his escape from the Macedonian governor Antipater.
  •   Monastery of Zoodochos fountain. It was founded in 1720, located 4km east of the city of Poros, at the foot of a pine forest. In 1814, a group of monks from Mount Athos found refuge in the monastery. A few years later, these monks founded the monastery of Zoodochos Pigi in Paros. The church is simple without many hagiographies. The wooden iconostasis that was built in Cappadocia in the 17th century, together with the wood-carved iconostasis and the throne, are of great interest.
  •   Bourtzi Castle. It was built in 1828 by Von Heidek on the site of the old church of St. Constantine. The island was ceded to the monastery of Poros in 1770 by Antonios Serfos. The dispute between Hydra and Kapodistrias, gave rise to a great battle that took place here in 1831.

  •   Naval Base. Poros housed the first naval base of the modern Greek state, founded in 1827 during the war of independence. In 1989, by ministerial decision, the Russian pier was declared a historic monument due to its architectural and historical interest.
  •   Ancient Troy. Ancient Trizina is known as the birthplace of Theseus, and is one of the most interesting places near Poros. All the historical finds of Trizina are in the archeological museum.
