The Σίγρι is her village Lesvos located in the western part of the island, 94 km from Mytilene. Its population is 333 inhabitants (2011 census). In Sigri is the fossil forest, which belongs to the UNESCO World Network of Geoparks.
The presence of the islets Nisiopi and Sedousa in front of the village create a natural port.

What to see
- Fossil Forest. The fossil forest was created 15-20 million years ago and has an area of 150,000 acres. It spreads throughout the southwestern region of Lesvos and the traveler can see hundreds of fossilized trunks of coniferous trees and others, such as large upright sequoia trunks that reach a height of 5 meters. In 2004 it joined the UNESCO World Network of Geoparks.
