If you are coming to Kampala by plane, you will land in Entebbe, which is located 35km southwest of Kampala.
You will need to pay a typical entry visa fee of US$50, so please prepare enough cash (US dollars or Ugandan shillings) during customs inspection, they do not accept credit card payments.
Then you can use the following transportation methods from Entebbe to Kampala:
- Take a private taxi (approximately UGX63,000 one way)
- Take the airport shuttle bus (also known as the "green airport bus", it is actually not green, but the name is green. From the main exit of the airport to the central roundabout UGX2,500 in Kampala, every hour)
- Public taxi (matuta, about UGX2,500 one-way), you need to walk about 5km from the airport to the city of Entebbe before stopping, because matuta and manned motorcycles are not allowed to enter the airport
