learn
The royal tombs in the Ming and Qing dynasties are very different from the previous ones. China's royal tombs took many forms before the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang revised the mausoleum system to make the Ming and Qing imperial mausoleums more refined and sophisticated, and became the pinnacle of Chinese royal mausoleum history.
In 2000, the Ming and Qing imperial mausoleums were registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and were expanded twice in 2003 and 2004.
