The A 82 is a street in Scotland and leads from Glasgow above Fort William at the Loch Ness along after Inverness. It is one of the most popular holiday routes through the Scottish Highlands.

The A82 goes back in part to old military roads that were laid out in the first half of the eighteenth century in order to be prepared against Jacobite uprisings. Further parts were built in the 1820s under Thomas Telford, now there was a continuous road connection between Glasgow via Fort William to Inverness. This street layout differs significantly from today's street layout. In the 1920s the line was designated as the main thoroughfare and in 1933 the line was built with the current route.

The A82 starts at the St George's junction as Great Western Road in the west end of Glasgow. After the junction with Hyndland / Cleveden Road, it becomes multi-lane and runs northwest out of the city, past Old Kilpatrik, there branches the A898 from after Alexandria. Finally it crosses an industrial area and ends at a roundabout with the A9 near the Kessock Bridge.
