Abu Qurqas (also Abu Qirqas, Arabic:أبو قرقاص, Abū Qurqāṣ) is a egyptian Medium-sized town with around 63,000 inhabitants[1] in the south of the Governoratesel-Minyā and the administrative seat of the administrative district of the same name.

Abū Qurqāṣ is the capital of an administrative district in the governorate el-Minyā and is located on both sides of the Ibrāhīmīya Canal. The city consists of two parts of the city: on the one hand, the city el-Fikrīya (Arabic:المدينة الفكرية, al-Madīna al-Fikrīya) directly on the trunk road from el-Minyā to Asyūṭ, west of the canal, and the actual Abū Qurqāṣ, 2 kilometers further east.
The main livelihoods of the city and its surrounding area are the production of sugar, milk and meat products.
