El-Minya (also el-Menya, el-Minja, Arabic:المنيا, al-Minyā, tooمنيا الفولي, Minyāt al-Fūlī) is a city in Middle Egypt. It is the capital of the eponymous Governorates and describes himself as the "bride of Upper Egypt",عروس الصعيد, ʿArūs aṣ-Ṣaʿīd. About 236,000 people live in it,[1] and she owns a university. The city owes its early wealth to the cotton trade; today the city is the center of soap, perfume and sugar processing.
El-Minyā serves today as a starting point to the numerous Pharaonic and Coptic sites north and south of the city, e.g. Tell el-Amarna and Beni Hasan.

By car

Numerous sites can be seen from el-Minyā Middle Egypt such as. Benī Ḥasan, Tūna el-Gebel, El-Ashunein, Tell el-āAmārna and the Meir Necropolis visit. In this city there are (from Mallawī apart from) the only Nile bridge far and wide. It makes sense to select the destinations so that they are on the same bank of the Nile.
