Middle Egypt (engl. Middle Egypt, Arabic:مصر الوسطي‎, Miṣr al-Wasaṭī) located in Egypt between Beni Suef and Qinā. The former northern part Upper Egypt has been treated separately since the 19th century due to its cultural independence.[1] It roughly covers the area between Cairo and the loop of the Nile Qinā.

The main connection, a two-lane asphalt road, runs on the west bank. There are bridges between the east and west banks in Beni Suef, el-Minyā, Asyūṭ, Sōhāg and Nag Hammadi.
