Upper Egypt (engl. Upper Egypt, Arabic:صعيد مصر, Ṣaʿīd Miṣr) located in the south Egypt and south Central Egypt between Qinā and Aswan. Aswan marked Egypt's southern border in ancient Egyptian times. Sometimes nowadays one closes the sub-sububian area (Lake Nasser) with in Upper Egypt.

- 8 Aswan (أسوان). - Big city and provincial capital on the east bank with numerous monuments, hotels, restaurants and gardens. - 1 Abydos (أبيدوس). - The archaeological site is still in the governorate Sōhāg and leaves from the train station el-Balyanā to reach. By plane
The 1 Luxor International Airport(IATA: LXR) can from Cairo from by flight with EgyptAir can be achieved. Numerous charter airlines in Germany, Austria and Switzerland also fly directly to Luxor. They can also be used to fly from or to important bathing resorts on the Red Sea. One-day tours with EgyptAir from Cairo to Luxor are also possible.
The small airport of 2 Aswan(IATA: ASW), Tel .: 20 (0) 97 230 3116, is mainly used to handle domestic EgyptAir flights to and from Cairo and Luxor. The same goes for the 3 Abu Simbel airport(IATA: SECTION).
By train
The places in Upper Egypt are on the Cairo-Minyā-Luxor-Edfu-Aswan railway line. Air-conditioned express trains run around three times a day. Tickets for the air-conditioned express trains are also a reservation ticket, i.e. only valid for the selected train. The prices are affordable even in the first class. In the case of heavily frequented trains such as night trains, it is advisable to sell tickets several days in advance.
By bus
The places of Upper Egypt can also be reached with regular buses e.g. from Upper Egypt Travel can be achieved.
In the street
For arrival and departure to Aswan or Luxor you don't need a convoy between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. At night you have to rely on a private convoy, which is subject to a fee.
Convoys to Abu Simbel start at 4:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Only the direct route is chosen, i.e. the other archaeological sites along the Lake Nasser are not approached. In consultation with the tourist police, there is also the possibility of a private convoy for a fee.
By boat
Luxor is the starting point or end point of Nile cruises from or to Aswan.
mobility
The main connection, a two-lane asphalt road, runs on the east bank. There are bridges between the east and west banks approx. 7 km south of Luxor, over the dam of Esna, in Edfu and over the dams of Aswan.
